Can I attend an SRF meditation service in London?
All our meditation services are open to the public, and all sincere seekers are welcome. Services comprise periods of silent meditation, devotional chanting and inspirational reading. If you are new to meditation, a good way to become accustomed would be to attend one of our Thursday evening services, which have shorter periods of meditation, with more readings and chants.
Alternatively, the Inspirational Services on Sunday mornings also have shorter periods of meditation.
There is no charge for attending; the costs of making the services available are met by donations.
Self-Realization students initially devote themselves to a period of preliminary study and meditation in order to prepare themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually for kriya practice. This is through a series of printed lessons written by Paramahansa Yogananda that can be studied at home. During this period one learns three important techniques: energization, concentration and meditation. Brief details of these techniques are outlined in the free introductory booklet ‘Undreamed of Possibilities.’ Copies of this are available with Lessons application forms from the SRF headquarters or from one of the addresses for general queries on the Contact Us page.
After a period of study and practice covering at least the first two steps of the SRF Lessons, which usually takes about a year, one can then decide if he or she wishes to apply for Kriya Yoga. This is a decision that signifies the establishment of the guru-disciple relationship with Paramahansa Yogananda.
Completed applications for the Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons (for which there is a small charge) should be sent directly to the SRF Headquarters in Los Angeles.

Where can I purchase SRF books, tapes and video publications?
A selection of books, tapes, CDs, photographs and other devotional items may be purchased before and after services at our Centre. Just ask the person at the door, who will direct you. (We regret that we are unable to offer a mail order service from London at this time.)
